Telecom New Zealand awarded Bronze Award at the 2012 Best Design Awards

Posted/ 11 September 2012

Telecom New Zealand's new Wellington workplace has won the Bronze Award at the Best Design Awards 2012.

Telecom Central brings together approximately 1800 employees (previously in 6 different locations) into a new 19000m2 landmark building designed by Warren & Mahoney. The environment brings to life Telecom's property accommodation and property strategy which considered their national requirements for the 2010 to 2020 timeframe and recommended Telecom consolidate into major hubs in both Wellington and Auckland. Geyer was part of a collaborative team including Wareham Cameron + Co. and Beca to developed the initial property and accommodation strategy and then worked in collaboration with Warren & Mahoney to develop the concept for both Telecom's Wellington and Auckland workplaces. With an emphasis on connectivity and interaction, both workplaces provide an open, interactive community environment. Working floors are designed to be as flexible as possible and contain a great variety of meeting and work places.

The Best Awards are an initiative of The Designers Institute of New Zealand and showcase excellence in graphic, spatial, product and interactive design.
