Geyer was appointed by Australia Post to undertake the design of their new workplace in the west tower of the Southern Cross development on the corner of Bourke and Exhibition streets. Geyer held an Aspirational and Brand Workshops to assist the client with understanding the opportunity and to develop a project vision which supports the following business objectives:
_To be an employer of choice
_ To transition from a product base business to a customer focussed organisation
_To reflect the organisation’s intrinsic Australian culture
_To be environmentally responsible
_To be collaborative, diverse and technologically savvy
Geyer’s design solution ensured that the Australia Post brand was intrinsically integrated into the final fitout solution. This included the introduction of the following initiatives:
_A client meet and greet floor
_Ground floor base building lobby customised for Australia Post
_The provision of a ground floor multi function space with opportunities to interact with clients, staff, the local community and the general public through exhibitions, media launches, functions, school group visits, etc.
_Introducing an over arching concept of ‘Every Day Every Where’ which engages with the Australia Post corporate brand and their Employee Value Proposition and which was translated into their physical environment.
_Facilities where Australia Post can promote and demonstrate their relationship with the Australian Art community.
Typical floors have centralised breakouts, meeting facilities, quiet rooms, utility/store and built zones. Three concepts have been developed to provide variance between the floor plates. The development is targeting a 5 Star Green Star rating.
